Nintendo Switch 2 Revives GameShare for Local Multiplayer Fun
Nintendo is bringing back a beloved feature with the Switch 2: GameShare. This allows for local multiplayer across multiple consoles using only one copy of a game.
Remember the Nintendo DS's wireless multiplayer or the classic GameBoy Link Cable? It's a similar concept. While the original Switch limited multiplayer to shared Joy-Cons on a single console, the Switch 2 lets players with their own consoles play together wirelessly with just one game cartridge.
Imagine two friends each owning a Switch 2, but only one has the new Mario game. GameShare will allow them to play together on their individual consoles. Even better, this feature extends to up to four consoles, including the original Switch and Switch Lite models.
GameShare Titles at Launch
The initial list of GameShare-compatible games is limited. Confirmed titles include Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Super Mario 3D World / Bowser's Fury, ClubHouse Games, Super Mario Odyssey, and Big Brain Academy. Nintendo promises to add more games to the list in the future.
Stay tuned for full Switch 2 coverage, including price, release date, pre-order information, and a list of announced games.
