Apple Health App: AI-Powered Personal Health Coach on the Horizon
Apple is reportedly working on a significant overhaul of its Health app, potentially incorporating AI to provide users with personalized health coaching. According to Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter, this ambitious project, codenamed "Project Mulberry," aims to integrate an AI agent that can act as a personal health coach, offering lifestyle recommendations based on a user's health data.
The revamped Health app might also feature educational videos from qualified doctors on various health topics. Furthermore, the app is expected to place a stronger emphasis on food tracking and potentially offer form correction tips during workouts by leveraging the device's camera.
This service, tentatively called Health+, could debut with iOS 19.4, anticipated in the spring or summer. Apple is purportedly employing in-house doctors to train the AI agent and plans to establish a studio near Oakland, California, for content creation. Apple is also looking to partner with a well-known doctor to promote the service.
