Valve has taken down a video game from its Steam marketplace following reports that the free demo was installing malware on users' computers. The game, Sniper: Phantom’s Resolution, had promised players a realistic FPS experience with dynamic storytelling.
Users on Reddit raised concerns after downloading and analyzing the demo, discovering it contained malicious software. The removal was initially reported by TheGamer.
This incident follows a similar case last month where Valve removed PirateFi, a game found to be malware designed to steal passwords. Valve has not yet commented on the situation.
