Eight Sleep has launched the Pod 5, a new sleep system leveraging artificial intelligence to optimize rest. This system comprises a cover, hub, blanket, and base, compatible with existing mattresses. The hydro-powered blanket dynamically adjusts temperature between 55 and 110 degrees Fahrenheit, responding to biometric data collected by embedded sensors in the cover. Snoring detection via vibration sensors triggers a gentle head elevation in the base, clinically shown to reduce snoring incidents. The base, adaptable for use between mattress and bed frame or freestanding with an optional leg kit, integrates surround-sound speakers for relaxation and recovery, featuring guided meditation, white noise, and calming soundscapes.
AI-Driven Sleep Optimization
The system's core is Autopilot, a proprietary AI engine trained on millions of hours of sleep data. It learns individual sleep patterns and biometrics for personalized adjustments. Further enhancing the experience is Health Check, a suite of AI algorithms that monitor heart and respiratory rates. Any irregularities detected are reported via the accompanying app, providing valuable insights into sleep health. The Pod 5 is available internationally, with pricing starting at $2,849 and a 30-night trial available.
